Welcome to the bench

Why this blog exists and what to expect from it — short, specific, no thought leadership.

This is the first post on the Bloody Finger Software blog. We'll use it for product notes, studio updates, and the occasional rant about ad creative that should have been killed in the brief stage.

Why a blog at all

We don't ship thought leadership. But there's a real gap between what performance marketers see in ad reviews and what actually moves results — and we want a place to put the specifics. What we changed in the model this week, why a particular hook formula stopped working, what a platform algorithm tweak actually means for your CPM.

What we're building right now

  • TheAdBench.AI — AI ad review for any creative that runs as paid media. Deepest calibration on short-form video. Free Quick-Check (3/day), free Deep-Dive (1/day, beta).
  • AI CINEMA — browser-based AI video editor for the BYOM era. Premiere-style timeline, bring your own models (Replicate, Runway, ElevenLabs, Pollinations), render client-side via ffmpeg.wasm. Free, MIT-licensed.
  • Block Edit — an iPhone, iPad, and Mac app that controls and edits the Fractal Axe-Fx II and III in real time over MIDI — presets, scenes, the amp block, the routing grid. Now in private beta.
  • Submissive Chicken — featured AdBench campaign. A cynical, burned-out chicken at a terminal who does whatever you type. Free. No sign-up. No dignity.

What to expect on this blog

  • Product notes — what shipped, what got killed, what surprised us.
  • Creative teardowns — real ads, real scores, real rewrites.
  • Platform notes — when Meta, TikTok, or LinkedIn changes the rules.
  • Studio updates — what we're building next.

Posts will be short. If something needs ten thousand words, it probably needs to be a tool instead.
